Having read how mitochondrial damage can escalate the degeneration of the spine, it makes perfect sense with being positive for a gammaretrovirus,  and how it could be causing the extensive damage to my spine.  As well as other major symptoms I have.

Well they found damage in Sophia Mirza's spine if I remember correctly from infection. But they did not seem to curious to find out what microbe had caused the infection? At least that I am aware of.

We need autopsy studies with well defined patients. They can have mine someday.

Mine too it will be good specimen complete with the HGRV. So they'll know what to look for once the assays are figured out.  And incidently my sister that was just diagnosed with Fibro was told her spine had extensive degenerative damage in all her disks too.  She has had no spinal injuries either.
I am a Fibromyagia/ME patient here and all my posts are my opinion and experiences.
