Whittemores cause arrest of Mikovits
« on: November 18, 2011, 10:55:09 PM »
The Whittemores have caused Judy Mikovits to be arrested today.  Max has not been heard from for 48 hours and Amy, who also works in the lab, is also missing.  They are key witnesses in Dr. Mikovits' defense.

Such tactics are outrageous!  Dr. Mikovits is now represented by counsel and authorities could easily have contacted them in order to resolve the matter.

Lilly Meehan was met at the door by police officers with a search warrant, and her home was searched from the attic down.  This is a outrageous abuse of process.

It is very hard to imagine the depth to which the Whittemores are willing to go, while they continue to make public posts and threaten patients with libel and other threats.  It sounds like extortion to me.  They are trying to silence patients.

THEY WILL NOT SILENCE ME!!!

PS:  Isn't it interesting that this is happening just before Dr. Mikovits is scheduled to speak at Dr. Enlander's meeting on Sunday.

I can't quite take it in.  Do you know if she was released?  I can't take this in, really.

Ditto. Are you sure? I guess I thought it would blow over. Who is Lilly Meehan - a patient and friend of Judys?
Doesn't there have to be some evidence for an actual arrest, not just that she worked there (others did also)?

Dr. Mikovits' lawyers are handling the situation.

Every word I posted is true.

WTF!  This is nuts.   Why won't they just leave her alone.  This is an outrage!

do we need a Miovits bail fund now or does the legal defense fund cover it.

MAybe this will just  drain the fund already we all worked so hard for!

Can it get more twisted? Hopefully, she can post bail and still be at the meeting.

Exactly.   And no matter how you phrase it, it is the police who arrest people (and serve search warrants).  So it is the police who think there is evidence of a crime.

Also: claims about stealing data and the involvement of police are nothing new in the history of bad science.  The cold fusion fiasco (1989) had all this as well.   That case had threats of arrest involving lab notebooks as well.  And in that case, the notebooks turned out to be worthless because the scientific breakthrough was worthless.  Sound familiar?

Not true, you do not need to convince the police in this kind of action.

The order comes from a JUDGE, and judges can be influenced.

Let me just say that a statement from a person is considered evidence, and if that person is credible to a judge, in most jurisdictions, the judge can issue the process.
